    Hi

Just started working on a PC with Acad 2004 and it's displaying a
wierd habit of creating zero line lengths unless you zoom in really
close to the area you're working in. To draw a 5mm line I sometimes
have to zoom in untill the drawing window represents approx 25mm. The
same problem exists with moving grips but then I have to zoom in even
    closer ??

Is there a variable that I should know about?

    TIA for any help

  2. You are probably getting an inadvertent OSNAP when the "From" and "To"
points are both within the APERTURE setting.
Check this setting. I suggest it should be about the same size as your
PICKBOX setting. If it is, ZOOM in closer to do stuff
like this or turn off your running OSNAP before trying it. (You could also
be snapping to the grid-check this setting.)

  3. If you go to Config>User prferences, in the area with the heading "Priority
for coordinate data entry" is it ticked as "Running object snap"?
If you change it to "Keyboard entry except scripts" it may fix the problem.
