Here at SpaceClaim, we think that certain products fit certain use
cases and that SolidWorks has a great product and has many use cases
that they address successfully. To the points mentioned maybe it
doesn't address your specific use case-but not everything fits
everyone. We at SpaceClaim are not planning to replace SolidWorks or
for that matter AutoCAD or any of the other 3D systems: they all have
proper use cases. We're working hard building a new system that is
different, and we have a long way to go. Since it will be a while
before we're ready to go to market, we will show any interested party
what we're developing. If you get to Boston please stop in and see
    what we're doing at SpaceClaim.

For those who can't or don't want to make a trip to Boston, suggest you
update your website to be a little less generalized.

    Why?
Clueless can already promote the great unknown based on having
nothing & knowing nothing but a name to drop.

    How cool.

Even among all the off-topic posting and petty bickering, I can still wean
    useful information and new resources.

A friend of mine refers to this as signal-to-noise ratio

    Jon Grimm,

comp.cad.solidworks is a depository of useful mostly on topic
information where alt.machines.cnc has become a suppository of useless
    off topic dribble.

    Niel,

I was responding to the thread and did not notice the cross post when
    replying.

However you just did the same thing your complaining about, you cross
posted a response to a thread in both groups. Doesn't make sense to me,
do as I say not as I do?

probably because I don't know to which group you actually subscribe to and
also to make the point to others who do this - usually alt.machines
    people -clear?

    Neil,

    I subscribe to both groups.

Clear, you think it's OK for you but not for others.

    Tom,
How would he know where you are today?
But you know where he is I'd guess.

(I love these simple little jb-like logic problems <G>).
