Xref's lines not plotting

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by justindavidwerner, Jul 2, 2003.

  1. I am trying to plot a drawing with an xref that contains another xref (nested). I run AutoCAD 2000 with Windows XP. Random lines don't show up in the preview and don't plot. I have varied the INDEXCTL and XLOADCTL variables but to no avail. Does anyone have a clue what would cause this?

  3. Just thought I would add that I attempted to plot this drawing from model space and I get the same results so it has nothing to do with plotting from paper space, it's got to be something to do with the xrefs and possibly some variable I need to change. DOES ANYBODY KNOW? AHHHHHHHHH!

My office is having the same problems.... I posted a few weeks ago. In our office it seems to only occur in paper space. I think this is becoming a big problem for a lot of people....i see a lot of posts for lines not printing and nothing works to fix it. I wish AutoDesk would do something about it!

Try a couple of things. 1st turn the plot state to on for every layer. Use freeze instead. If that does not work, create a new drawing, copy all objects from the xref'd drawing into the new drawing. Save the new drawing, replacing the original. One of these should work.

  6. The plot state is on for every layer. I do freeze layers to keep them from plotting. The 2nd method didn't work either. I copied the objects from the sheet the xrefs go into and pasted them into a new drawing where I xrefed the site again. This is what you meant right? If you meant to copy the objects from the xref and paste those into the sheet, what would be the point of xrefs? Any other ideas?

We are having the same problem with our files. Right now it seems to be limited to plotting in paper space. I am beginning to believe it is an auto destruct feature of autocad to make us upgrade.
