xref repath and rename

    hey im writing a program that copies files and put them in my directory structure i can rename the files but in the xrefs im not able to do this from the outside. does anyone or can someone point me int the right direction on what i need to access the info from the xrefdata or whatever. im running
    visual studio.net and acad 2005
