Xerox Workcentre Pro 40 prints darker than HP Laserjet

We have always had HP Designjet printers to print our coloured plots. Recently we replaced it with a Xerox Workcentre Pro 40 which is an all in one machine (prints color and B+w, scans, photocopies etc). The problem I have is the Xerox machine plots some colours so dark they're black. So if I plot a historic drawing I have to be careful. It also limits my colour selection. If I open the default Chroma.dwg file found in acad support, and print it, out of 10 lines of colours I can only use about 6 lines because the colours are so dark they're black. Is there a way to lighten up all these colours within the CTB or any other way? I was thinking on reassigning colour Numbers and pens in the CTB to match more closely what we used with the HP machines. But I'm hoping there is a way to lighten all colours. I'm using a P4 512 mb of ram, Acad 2002, with Windows XP. Thanks in advance.

    My guess is to look
1st in the configuration of the machine itself (Print configuration on the Xerox)
2nd on de driver properties and hte document defaults of the windows driver of the Windows Print server. A setting like "draft quality" could do the trick !
