I have 2 problems that I need help with.
1.) We are running a network version of AutoCad 2000 on a NT 4.0 server with 6 licenses where the software gets installed locally and the server is just a license mgr.I tried to install AutoCad 2000 from the server on a Win XP machine and the message said wrong OS. What does this mean?Do I need to upgrade my server to WIN 2000 or is something need to be set up differently.

Or what if I do the following:

2.) We just purchased AutoCad 2002 and I want to upgrade the license server running NT 4.0 but the server is older and I would like to put it on a newer server with WIN 2000. What is the procedure. Do I need to copy and move any files to the new server or just go ahead and install AutoCad 2002 on the new server and request new codes. Also, will there be a problem with XP anyway. Any help would be greatful. Thanks

It means that the OS is wrong on the PC where the install is running (the
one where the message appears). Windows XP is not a valid OS for AutoCAD
    2000.
    up differently.

No, the problem is the workstation OS.

I believe that the server that the network deployment tree is on can be
pretty much any OS, as you're just using it as a file server. But you need
to consider what OS you will choose to run the license manager on.

Check out the system requirements for AutoCAD 2002, both for the workstation
and license server, and then compare that to the configuration you have.

If you are going to run AutoCAD 2000 and 2002 in parallel for a while, then
you have more requirements to think about.

So if I just upgrade my AutoCad 2000 with 2002 on the NT 4.0 server everything should work because XP professional is compatible with 2002. Correct
