Win XP Sp2 & SW2005

I have a client who is ordering a new machine and, of course can only
get it with XP sp2 installed. can someone explain for me exactly what
are the issues with SW2005 and XP sp2? And when those issues are suppose
to corrected.

The issues have been resolved in SP0.1 for 2005 and SP5.0 for 2004.

 

....but to expand on that explanation a little, the issue was with the
service packs possibly refusing to install or installing improperly
UNTIL the above service packs were released. As long as you go from the
installation to the service packs noted (and not try to install some
previous service pack first or return to some previous service pack --
really only applies to 2004) your client should have no issues. There
is no compliant service pack for SW2003, so if your client tries to
install that release and then install a service pack they may indeed
have problems.
