    Hi,

I read an interesting poll question in www.techieindex.com "will
Instant message replace email?" . Also there is relevant articles and
    news. What do you think?

    regards,

    Hi

You are quite right, -------- but on the other hand, personaly I find the issue
interesting, while selecting 500 fake Microsoft update mails a day, don't talk
for remaining on the technologic Highway ; you know the promised golden future
where we can recive E-Mails .
Now to stay off-topic I alway's stayed away from Linux, as this growing break
down seem to be plesant for only those who brag about "proving" that technology
don't work , and those guy's isn't the ones who feel themself called to save the
promise of a bright future, -------- bad jokes and evil campains seem more
    important.
But on the other hand, as I don't want to support Linux, while I find their
means evil , I don't want to support another one making profit calling Bill
Gates a Hippie, and using that to get more costumers. A Linux CAD was never made
and any talk about one alway's end at a Microsoft free-download site, beside
Linux people think CAD is a graphic program and don't know anything about CAD ,
except bragging about that Linux can do it cheaper, proving it can not and isn't
even CAD but what they think is CAD.
Anyway , now they got their will, and somone laughing his pants off, has
composed what shuld look as a Microsoft update, even everyone knowing just a bit
more, will reconise it as somthing more looking as a Linux joke that came out of
    hand.
-------------- Isn't that what it look like ?
Then what was "proven" by smashing our E-Mail systems around the world ?

  4. I was wondering the same thing when I saw the message.

Anyway - I don't think it will replace email - the two aren't necessarily
trying to do the same thing.
Companies won't like IM until they can tie it down to monitor it & keep
records of the messages sent, rather than people directly accessing outside
servers which is generally the case today.
Iwould get irritated if people I deal with used IM rather than emails - I
prefer to deal with items when I want to, rather than when messages pop up
in front of me on the screen.
Also IM is completely useless for offline use. I tend to collect messages on
my laptop once a day, & then compose replies (often whilst traveling on the
train) before p sending all the replies the next time I connect.

I'm sure you did. Why not post that question instead of this one?
    and

    Uh... no.

I think you forgot to post anything that might help make the question worth
    discussing.
A lot of ACAD users use email to communicate. Even to the point of sending
drawings from point A to point B.

IM reminds me of the "CB" crave of the late 1970's. "Ah yeah; for sure,
"Fer sher" was '80s. Valley Girl. Not CB. Sheeesh ;-)
