Why is Lightweight slower than Resolved?

    I find I get about 25% of the graphics performance just zooming and rotating when
    I open assemblies lightweight. If I open Resolved, or "Set Lightweight to
    Resolved" for the whole assembly, graphics is much snappier.

    Seems kind of backwards to me. Anyone knows anywhere I might have screwed some
    setting?

    (SW 2006 SP5, FireGL7100 8.263 w/RealView)
