I have AutoCAD 2004. I would like to use PC3 for
HP Laserjet 8000n. when I use Plotter manager (via
Add-A-Plotter Wizard) I could not find Laserjet 8000
only up to laserjet 4 and 5 series. so which
HP laserjet name is best suit for HP 8000n
    - I know I can use window system (hp 8000) to use it but I like to have PC3 too..
    Thank you - Mark

  2. Hi Mark,

A PC3 file is just a wrapper around the driver to store your settings.  You can do that with the System driver and for the 8000 is it using the optimized driver.  So go ahead and install the PCL5 or PCL6 system driver from HP.  Then create your PC3 file around that driver.  BTW the drivers your asking about are HDI and they are more for legacy devices that do not have a good system driver.

    Hope this helps.
