    Hello to Everyone,

Please let me know of an experienced and active usenet group for
Autodesk Inventor questions. I am trying to maintain links between
drawing files. I am finding however that some operations are not
available when working on an assembly file. any help that any of you can
    provide will be greatly appreciated.

The situation that I am facing is as follows:
    1. I am creating a part model of a casting.
    2. I am creating several assembly models using the part model to create
several machine models. The problems arise when the machined model
includes either an external thread of any sort or an internal tapered
pipe thread. I would like to hear from anyone that has had to deal with
awkward situations regarding threads. Thank you.

Please respond through the usenet group. If you feel that you must
respond directly to my e-mail please use a header of "Inventor threads"
so that I can distinguish it from spam. Thanks again.

go to http://discussion.autodesk.com/index.jspa and click on auto cad
inventor. To solve your other problem...
so to created a seperate assembly with seperate referenced part files,
    you must

    1. create a project file for each seperate assembly in its own folder
    using project manager.
    2. go to the assembly (in windows explorer) and right click and
select "pack and go" click "copy to single location" search for the
referacned files, direct the new packaged files to the serperate
project that you made previously, after done searching push start and
all the files referanced will go to the new project file with new
    references to that project file.
