Which color is the best for working with AutoCad? I have black now, but I
had some kind of green before. I don¨t remember which number is this green,
    but it was ok.

Which number of color you use?

    Black, or white.

Depends on your evaluation criteria and the particulars of your viewing
    situation.
    Dunno. Black.

Know a fella who uses white with black lines and lwt on so that his drawings
    look like drawings.

    Marulic:

In MicroStation (all versions) I can make the background color to be any
of 255^3 colors, and I prefer colors that have low saturations, e.g.,
slightly grayed medium blue-greens or slightly grayed medium violet-blues.

All the elements can be drawn with any of 255^3 colors, and reference
files or reference file elements can be displayed in a duller pallette
of those colors that is independent of the colors the original files are
drawn with. The active file colors can be set to a slightly brighter
pallette of hues. Not the same as the background color, of course.

The element highlight color can be set to black, and that gives greater
definition to fine lines and intricate drawing work. The black highlight
color is excellent on the dull color background, and it doesn't compete
with the element colors. Cursor colors and various types of groups can
be separately set to more limited ranges of colors.

The result is easy on the eyes, and more accurate work is possible. The
color background has the benefit of making the CAD drawing experience
less lonely. The color background helps.

Additionally, now that MicroStation can read and write directly in the
native AutoCAD file format while using MicroStation, the benefits of a
great selection of background and element colors, that MicroStation has
had for more than 20 years, is now available to those who work on
    AutoCAD files.

I really think that White is the best choice (or perhaps a very light
grey), at least if your final output will be on paper.

Paper is white. On a white paper yellow is very faint, and a dark
blue is nice and visible. But, if you were to have a black or dark
background, then the colors you choose to be easily visble are not what
    is easily visible on paper.
