where to place job postings?

Discussion in 'SolidWorks' started by Mark Bannister, May 5, 2004.

  1. We are looking for someone to do the occasional mold design in
SolidWorks. We do most in house but with current growth we need some
    outside help.
Is this a good a place as any to post this?

It's a very fine place to post SolidWorks jobs. Most of us appreciate
    it.

  4. Thanks everyone for your replies.
We are looking for company or individual to work on the occasional
job-by-job basis. Experience in injection mold design is required.
Thermoset injection, compression, and transfer mold design would be an
    added bonus. Free-lance is fine.
We typically keep up with the latest SW release and are currently using
    2004.
We need someone reliable who can estimate time requirements reasonably
    and meet them.
We use a select few sub-contractors and prefer smaller organizations
with whom we can build close relationships. We pay on time.
Our web site details most of what we do,
http://www.Injection-Moldings.com. (I've mentioned this before but most
all the graphics on our site were done in SW/PW years ago.)
One last thing, and this is very important, when last minute model
changes arrive there will be no moaning and groaning. Just tell me how
long it's going to take to redo everything.

  7. I take it I missed your email? Could be. I found several that went to
my junk filter. I don't know about everyone else but I get about 400
junk emails a day. We are having a terrible time getting it all sorted
out. Had I been clever I would have asked for something specific in
    subject heading.
If I've ignored a response it is unintentional.

    I get about 400
We were having the same problem; in excess of 100 spam per day for all our
major employees. We tried several spam packages, including
McAfeeSpamKiller, SpamAssassin, and InBoxer. All of them were an
improvement over nothing, but had major flaws--troubling amounts of false
positives, and significant amounts of spam (>40 per day) were still getting
    thru.

Our IT guy recently installed a server based installation of Symantec's
Mail Security for Exchange, which includes an Anti-spam component. The
anti-spam uses a combination of real-time blacklists and heuristic
filtering; in about a month of use we've had zero false positives, and the
spam that gets thru is down to about five messages per day.

I highly recommend that you consider the Symantec product.

  9. thanks, I'll look into it. Symnatec can be such a pain to deal with
though and we are not currently using Exchange.

We've had messagelabs spam manager installed for a couple of weeks. It
blocks about 100+ messages a week from my inbox. I've had one false
positive but that was an e-greeting card so that's almost expected.
    Seems to work great.

I have an immediate, contract employment opportunity that I am having
difficulty filling and thought this may prove to be an excellent
networking tool. The position is located in the Toronto, Ontario,
Canada area. My clients requirements are: 5-10 years experience in
mechanical systems design and manufacturing. Mechanical and/or
chemical process design and electro-mechanical systems integration,
familiar with the design of 3D equipment models, assemblies, 2D parts
& assemblies, process flow and instrumentation diagrams and electrical
schematics. Trained and have practical experience with Solid Edge,
AutoCAD and ANSI or other ASME software. CFD experience a definite
    plus.

If this describes your background and you are available to work in the
    Toronto area, please email asap.

    Many thanks
