When copying layouts from one drawing to another the viewport layers change

    Hi Could someone assist I am copying layouts from one drawing to another using from template command (to cteate a renamed template on a drawing) . However when I do this the viewport layers which have been switched off on the original drawing all appear open on the copied drawing. I know that I could go through the layers and individually switch them off so that they match the original drawing however this would be a long process as I have approx 400 drawings to do this with. I would just like a quicker way of doing this if anyone know.
