I have often times wondered about the materials application in PW. I
deinfately like the PW manager...not haveing to re-select the features again
    is kewl.

My questions comes when you press on the "illuminations" tab as you are
applying the materials and the drop down box gives you like 20 different
options to change the materials behavior....how? I mean in other words i see
how different options become available and change the overall look
(sometimes) but what is this changing really?

I have added "beech wood" as the material but then i can go and add "glass"
to it. Is that giving the wood a glass feel?

    Thanks in advanced.

No, when you change the material from wood to glass, its just glass.
