Hello. I would like to get some hardware tips on PC for AutoCAD, used for 3D
design. What to pay attention on when choosing 1. graphic card (any
recomendations?) 2. CPU 3. RAM (how much, what kind) 4. Hard disk. I am
totally new to this area. Kind regards, I.

    2. CPU 3. RAM (how much, what kind) 4. Hard disk. I am
    These are minimun requirements

    System Requirements

a.. Intel® Pentium® III or later, with 800 MHz or faster processor, or
    compatible
    I recommend an Intel® Pentium® IV 2.4GHz. (I spent a lot more money on a
    386 years ago.)
a.. Microsoft® Windows® XP (Professional, Home Edition, or Tablet PC
Edition), Windows 2000, or Windows NT® 4.0 (SP6a or later)
    b.. 256 MB RAM (recommended)
    Always double the recommended RAM
The kind of RAM is dependent upon the Processor. Your computer builder will
    know which RAM to install.
a.. 300 MB free disk space for installation
This is a moot point. With todays huge hard drives, the main issue is just
to get a fast one. Usually the biggest ones are the fastest ones.
a.. 1024x768 VGA with true color (minimum)
I´m using 1600 x 1200 with a 21 inch monitor. The smaller my icons are, the
    better I like it.
    a.. Microsoft® Internet Explorer 6.0
Update this to the latest service pack and the latest security patches. I
    recommend www.bigfix.com or www.windowsupdate.com
    a.. CD-ROM drive
Mouse, trackball, or compatible pointing device

I recommend a wired optical Intellimouse. No need to take up a USB port for
a mouse when you are supplied with PS2 which is almost exclusively for mouse
and keyboard. Don´t fall for other brands. The Logitechs are good, but not
for AutoCAD. You end up using the Microsoft drivers with the Logitech
mouses anyway, just to be able to have the panning and zooming like you are
    supposed to.

    Take care
