What are standard wages for microstation users?

Hi,

I have my 6 month review coming up and I'm just trying to find out if
I'm being underpaid at my current job. Does anyone know what the
going rate is for a Microstation user is in Melbourne, Australia?
I've been using Microstation for over a year now but I consider myself
to be a user with above average skills. I am also using the ArcView
8.3 GIS package.

Any insight as to what I should be getting paid would be very helpful
as I have my review at the end of this week.

It probably varies between disciplines. But I don't think Microstation users
get paid any more or less than users of any other product. If you are in
Government, you get award rates. If you are in Private industry, you
probably get paid as little as your employer can get away with, unless you
are very good, stand out from the crowd and your employer wants to keep you.
I suggest you make sure you are in this final group. If your employer
doesn't give you what you think is a fair review, then start looking around.
That is the best way to find out what you are worth.
