Entering sketcher - I was under the impression that PTC were going to dump the sketch orientation window and assume an auto orientation - this would mean one less thing to worry about for beginners. But what they have actually dumped is the appearance of the sketch references window and gone straight to sketching with the auto references. From teaching of good first principles this does encourage the beginner to choose appropriate sketching references - capturing their design intent. There is a sketch references icon which can be set in the sketch toolbar to take you to the sketch references dialogue box. But more usefully [from a good practise point of view] there is this config option - sketcher_auto_create_refs. Set it to zero and no references are assumed - the ref dialouge box comes up empty everytime. Does anyone know how to bypass the sketch orientation window? They seem to have suppressed some of the 'Are you sure....?' dialogue boxes - they finally got the message I know my own mind. When you can't find something always check those right click menus - I was a bit annoyed at the assembly dashboard because the 'Default Constraint' option [WF2 - icon in placement window] is not at the top level - but it is under the right click menu.
