Has anyone had any success using web2cad to insert purchased parts in
SW 2005? It seems to look only for 2004. Is this the worst Version
yet?? The only way to stop SW from releasing untried crap is to stop
    upgrading!

    Al,

This is the worst SolidWorks flame I may have ever read. Are you
really compaining about a free service that is not controlled by
SolidWorks? IT'S FREE! Web2Cad will catch up eventually. They are
probably in the midst of updating their entire catalog to 2005 as we
speak. And they are late on SolidWorks just to piss you off.
    Remember it's free.

I would recommend that you use the STEP option. Typically, Web2CAD is
several months behind a CAD product release.

I liked Web2Cad's format. Much clearer than Content Central and less
    problems with nagging password requests.

The 3D viewer was much more finished than SW's viewer. It had standard view
    icons along the side.

The filetypes available seemed to vary a lot. I am not sure what I can do
    with XML.

But as far as being able to drop parts right into SW I didn't see much that
    would be helpful.

I'm not really complaining about web2cad. Just tacked on a general
rant about SW upgrades. 2005 is no where near ready for release. SW
seems to have become dependent on the upgrade income stream and is
releasing upgrades that are detrimental to those stupid enough to
    purchase them.
