    i am setting up for a SWx 2008 rollout. i want to have 2 OS's on a
single computer. the primary will be a XP64 configuration running SWx
and no internet access, this will be a CAD only setup. the secondary
OS XP32 will run under Vmware on the second hard drive and it will
have all software other than SWx and will have internet access.

i am looking for anyone who has tried this configuration?

the XP64 has a known issue with HP printer drivers crashing the
software that i am hoping to be resolved soon.

i am also looking for any other XP64 issues on SWx 2008 SP3.0? i've
been checking SWx web site already and reviewing all recorded issues.

Virtually done. i have 3 of my high end users already running in this
capability. i will have 6 more users on-line in a week or two,
awaiting hardware purchases (needed a biger second hard drive).

the good, XP64 starts quick (boot up times is about 1 minute from cold
boot to windows ready for work). SWx running alone on this system is
very stable, only one crash and it was on a cosmos analysis (imported
part had an open face, a real small one). i have also found that SWx
does not degrade as much over time running alone without internet
access (over 4 months and SWx slowed down 1-2% from benchmarks. i use
to rebuild some users computers every 2-4 months).

the bad, i have found some items in SWx need Excel like sheet metal
tables ( i will have to install some of office to support this).
screen prints of SWx for use in manuals are cumbersome (have to past
them into wordpad right now and then copy file across to virtual
machine to work upon, may install word also to support this, later).

the ugly, none fould so far. iQ

Have you tried SnagIt from TechSmith to do screen shots in all sorts
    of ways?

    https://www.techsmith.com/

Has worked flawlessly on XP Pro 32 for me & other SWks users
    hereabouts for years.

  5. Sounds good, I might build something similar next time I clean the
home pc. Just to test how much we actually loose power/speed because
of MS is not creating a decent OS :)
