Is there a way to apply one plot style to a viewport and another plot style to another viewport in paperspace?

What I want to do is have two viewports on the same layout, one viewport set to plot normally and another viewport set to plot faded. Is this possible?

You'll probably have to set different text styles and possibly different layers.

If you are in a "sheet" file and the model contains xrefs only, you can use
the old trick of renaming the xrefs and attaching them again. You then have
the same info in the drawing twice with unique layer names. Use LAYER to
adjust (Screen) one set of layers and VPLAYER to control the visibility in
each viewport. Cumbersome but it works.

If you are going the two xref route, you can also put them side by side, and
freeze your layers in MS. Then you can jump back and forth easier. If you do
annotation and dimensioning in MS this is a big help. If you have adopted PS
annotation it is unnecessary. Another benifit of doing it this way is you
can create LayerStates that apply to Xrefs, so setting up say a floor plan
and ceiling plan is real quick. As far as I know, you would have to do it
manually if freezing layers in PS.
