I have a nifty little lisp routine I've been using for quite a while. I
have uploaded it to the CF group with subject as "viewport guide"

What it does is....while in paper space, it will allow me to select the
viewport, and then it will draw a matching polyline in model space so I can
see the limits of the viewport while in model space. The only problem is
that it won't work on irregular viewports. Does anyone know how to make this
work w/ irregular viewports, circular and polygonal viewports. Any help you
can give will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Mike

    Mike,

I got it to work with irregular viewports, but you might have to change the draw feature of your lisp. Right now it works, but it only draws a box about the exterior points not relating to the actually look of the viewport. When you figure that out please post it again this is a helpful lisp.

Just erase the ".zip" at the end of the file name.

guess I should have been more clear....thats my main problem. I can get it
to work w/ the irregular viewports and draw the most exterior points. My
goal is to get it to draw the vp exactly like it really is. It is a very
useful lisp, I use it daily. Thanks for your help and reply. Maybe someone
    can figure out the problem.

That one doesn't work on viewports made from circles or ellipse. He is the one I just finished. If run into any problems post here.

    Tim

P.S.-- To open file, remove the ".zip" from the name.

Gary, read his P.S......... rename the file to vpguide.lsp............some
firewalls don't allow attachments other than "zip" files so I'm guessing
this is how Tim works around that.
