I have been using the sdsk.dfm file for setting various network paths in our
system. I have 3 different machine configs. the workstations are either
loaded with autocad land desktop 2005 on the C: or D: drives with support
files stored centrally on a network drive and the laptops are loaded on c:
with support files stored locally and updated periodically. I have made 3
sdsk files, one for each case. The problem is that I just put in land
desktop 2005 sp1 and it changed all my users sdsk files to a c: drive
config. Luckily, I just had to copy back down the various files and we were
off and running but I don't want that to be business as usual. Is it wrong
    to modify the sdsk file?

  2. Hi Tom,

It's certainly not wrong to modify the SDSK.DFM file.

The only real proviso is that you understand what you are doing and
recognise that the file can be changed with a text editor, or from inside
the software. Also data from it is copied to other files, so that changes
you make may not appear to have been invoked in existing projects.

Also, it is possible to make changes with Notepad which will stp Land
desktop from working, so back up is important.

Lastly there is very little (if any) available documentation to assist you
    in editing the file.
