I want to create my own dcl window, but use 6-7 of the core cad hatch
    images as my "buttons"...

    a) can I do this?
    b) how?

I've done the image as a button before, just don't know how to use the
    hatch image....

    TIA

Well if you're planning to re-invent the wheel, there's always room for
    improvement.

Yes it can be done, and you'll have to create your own slides to use within
    each image_button.

    addendum:

I'm not making my own hatch tool, just a really dumbed-down version for
a lisp command I cooked up (with help from a few guys here).. to help
us keep the hatch patterns used, within our office "standards".

    e.g.:

simple window.. 6 images (one for each hatch).. user clicks the one
he/she wants.. lisp does everything else (scales/colors..location is
irrelevant since i'm modding existing hatch with this).

Place hatch pattern on-screen. Mslide. Saveas hatch1.sld...
continue. In Dialog, use image -->hatch1.sld.
    ......
