Upgrade from R14 to 2006 required before XP SP2?

    Hey all,
My IT department at work claims that AutoDesk Tech Support told them AutoCad
R14 will not, under any circumstances, run under Windows XP SP2, and that
they would have to upgrade to AutoCad 2006 (at great expense) if they want
to reap the benefits of XP SP2.
    Is this true?
If we have XP and R14 running, and we upgrade XP to SP2, will R14 stop
    working?
If so, is there a work around? I figure maybe like opening a port, or
creating an exception or something like that?
If anyone can answer this it would be SOOOOO helpful, thanks!

They'll tell you anything to sell you something. It'll work.

I agree. Since R14 is long been made obsolete, AutoDesk would love for you
to pay out the $3,000 per seat to upgrade. Oops, not upgrade, I mean buy a
FULL package since they took that option away. Ignore their BS spew and at
    least try sp2!

With Windows 2000, a couple of our older programs stopped functioning or
didn't work right. With XP, these programs work fine again. Microsoft knows
there are a lot of legacy apps out there and need to be supported.
Indecently, I've never noticed problems running AutoCAD under any current
Windows OS, contrary to the AutoDesk spew.
