Update attribute nested in Xref

I wrote code to update attribute in blocks nested in a xref.
changes are made on the screen, but they are not in the xref.

How can I update the Xref ?

I wrote some code a week, or so, ago that will access the databse of the
xref and update the xref layers in the current drawing. I suppose you could
use my code as a guide to get the attributes in the xref drawing and modify
them. I Will post if interested.
