unrecognized version and cannot read problem...

  1. this has been posted before but was never answered ;

    ------
All of the sudden all of our workstations are getting the same error message
when we try to plot "Unrecognized version and cannot be read". If you hit
"Ok" it kicks you out of AutoCAD. If you hit "Cancel" about 5 times, it will
eventually plot. I looked in the AutoCAD "Knowledge Base" (TS65521) and it
said it was caused by a corrupt plot stamp file (.PSS). The 3 solutions
given were to edit the file in Notepad, use a different plot stamp, or turn
off the plot stamp. I have tried all 3 of these to no avail. Has anyone else
run across this problem? It happens on our plotter and all of the other
small printers in the office. It happens with all drawings. We are running
Acad 2k2 - SP1 on Win 2000 machines. As far as I know, nothing has changed
on our network as of this morning.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.------so anyone know what to do, I
have the same exact situation here and I needto resolve it fast.thanks for
any help or idea I could try.

Is the file from some other team, like saved as AutoCAD 2004 format?

I work at a print house and have seen this a few times...

    Just a thought....

uninstalling and reinstalling AutoCAD fixed the problem...but a solution
like that sucks. If you try it, be sure to delete the AutoCAD subfolder
from your Program Files folder before reinstalling.

If anyone has a better solution, please share it!

    See ya
