two subscription contracts - one license file

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by Drew Burgasser, Oct 11, 2004.

  1. Does anyone know how to bureaucratically get a single license file for two
different subscription contracts for one company.

The company has 5 civil design licenses under one contract and 1 civil
design license under another contract. So, it would make sense that the
company could get a single license file for 6 civil design licenses.

    But they can't.

The authorization department doesn't seem to understand technically that we
can only use a single license file. Two different servers is a pretty silly
    workaround.

    Thanks,

  2. I can merge the two contract into one, but I would have to ask the company
to pay a prorated subscription fee to make the subscription dates the same.
Maybe they are okay with doing this.

But I really don't think they should have to do this. Maybe they aren't
budgeted to do this right now?

Just give me the darn license file for 6 licenses! :)

  3. Drew,

Our license files are generated on a per serial number-product basis. Since
two different subscription contracts correlate to different serial numbers
we can not track this kind of request..

Your customer may run two license servers, each one specific to a given
serial number and point workstations to try both license servers or they can
consolidate the contracts. With either of the two solutions your customer's
license files can be generated using our automated systems thus providing
    our quickest level of service.
