Two color/thickness linetype

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by John Georgiev, May 13, 2004.

  1. I'm created linetype with text in it:
    *LINE TYPE,LINE TYPE ---- LT ---- LT ---- LT ----
    A,.5,-.2,["LT",STANDARD,S=.1,R=0.0,X=-0.1,Y=-.05],-.2
This is simple. The problem is that I need to have the dashes very thick,
and when this happening the text cannot be seen. Anybody know a simple way
to make the text different color, or to assign lineweight to the dashes. It
may be possible by creating Shape file (I'm not sure), but I'm trying to
    avoid that.

  2. You might try using a text style that is defined with a TrueType Font
instead of a .SHX font, and give the line (or its layer) a color that will
make a thick line. That way the text thickness is defined by the font, and
the way it looks when plotted is unrelated to the pen assignment line weight
    for whatever its color is.

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe that you can give your pline a width and
the text will stay the same.
