Twisted wire linetype

  1. Twisted wire linetype

Is there a linetype available which could represent two wires being twisted?

Would like to create a simple polyline of such and that the wire widths can be varied a bit via color changes too. The ends need to match up correctly, not just cut off and begin again when a curve comes up. Needs to work in Autocad for DOS also.

Wm - such a linetype would have to be a symbolic one, e.g., x-x-x-

Linetypes can only use text or shapes, and shapes can only be defined with
ASCII characters. If you need something realistic, consider creating a block
and placing it along a path with the MEASURE command.

As I said over in alt.cad.intellicad, it's not practical to do except with
shapes, which limits the practicality for curves and corners. This is the
closest I could come up with, and I don't think it's realistic to expect
much better from a .lin file.

I've downloaded the linetype and except for one problem it works great.
Problem; I have to set the linetype scale to about 200 to get the visible
    twisted wires.
What changes do I need to made to the file?
    Thanks.

Try editing the .lin file, and increase the values (including the size for
the included shape). You should be able to find enough information on .lin
files in the Customization Guide section of HELP.

Or, you could just set the LTScale factor for objects using the linetype to
    200 or whatever.
