Trim and delete at polygon

    In Microstation, there is a way to place a "fence" on the drawing and then delete everything outside the fence, clipping objects where they cross the fence. Is there a way, in Autocad to do this? The EXTRIM command only allows me to trim to a ploygon and leaves all of the objects outside the polygon, which I then have to erase. HELP
