Timeout feature in FlexLM

Does anyone have experience with using the FlexLM Timeout option? I see that the description of the feature says that usage depends on whether the software vendor implements it - I am assuming that AutoCAD would do so. If you set up a timeout period and it kicks in on a user, where does it leave him with any open drawings, i.e. what kind of problems can it create for the users?
    Thanks for any feedback.

The timeout option does work in Acad. It does NOT! work in Inventor. We
were mislead by the documentation and reseller that it does. We have an
issue opened on it with autodesk.

Usually its transparent to the user, unless there is no license
available. I think it will let you save but not do anything else if it
can't get a license. We have several users that lose and regain their
license several times a day, they have no idea that it happens. We have
the timeout set to 15 minutes. It works really well to keep the number
of licenses below the number of users.

  3. TIMEOUT is implemented in AutoCAD 2004 and 2005. If you search the Autodesk
Knowledge base for AutoCAD TIMEOUT document TS67304 should be listed at the
top and should answer your questions.

  5. You can also try LogOff - a client-based approach for the session inactivity
timeout. Works in AutoCAD 2005, 2004, 2002... up to R14.
