Tiff dpi

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by xxxTed Schaefer, Feb 5, 2004.

  1. Using AutoCAD 2004's tiff driver, is there a way to increase the
dpi beyond 100? Anyone have good luck sending 30x42, 200+dpi
to an OCE with Tiffs without having to purchase a third party print driver?

    Within the TIFF PC3 I have a page size 45" x 35.5" defined in pixels (9000 x
7100). In the "Plot" dialogue box I set the Plot scale as "200 pixels = 1
unit" and the X and Y offsets are defined in pixels. Even though the
"Plotter Configuration Editor" and some viewers report 100dpi, other viewers
pick it up as 200dpi and it DOES serve our purposes. I gave up trying to
    understand how.

You could use Irfanview to check your TIF file (witch size and resolution ) and convert if needed. There is even a command promt interface witch you could use in batch programming.
You could use Goplot to have a free program to send files to prinerports. Or use copy LPT3 /b ....

  4. Plot to (E)PS and use GhostScript to convert to TIFF in the resolution that
you need (probably 300 dpi). You'll probably want TIFF Group 4 which is well
supported in GS. For ease of use you could use my GoBatchGS front-end for
    GhostScript: http://members.lycos.nl/goplot.
