    Hi All,
I am using cadence .5.1.41 version and when I plot a waveform it is
constantly flashing and very disturbing to
evaluate the plot. does anyone knows how to change its properties so
    the plotted waveform stops flashing?
    thank you for the help

    Hi,

This is very likely because awd is using layers y0-y9 for waveforms.
The best way for you to get rid of the blinking is to edit your
display.drf file and change the attributes of those y0-y9. just move
the blinking color into a non blinking one.
Are you comfortable with this ?
    let us know otherwise !

    Cheers,
    Riad.

  4. Hi Riad,

I'm experiencing the same problem with 5.1.41, when I plot smthg with
AWD the first 2 curves will appear blinking and it's very annoying. I
read the post here but I don't see any display.drf file that I could
    hack, where is it located?

And to answer your question about AWD vs. Wavescan ... I really don't
like Wavescan except for a few cursor and markers features I wish AWD
    had.

    Thanks.

Well, the display.drf could be in lots of places, so the thing to do is probably
to use Tools->Display Resource Manager, and then Edit, and modify it, and save a
local display.drf - then you can pick that one up. By default it will (probably)
pick up the one in your working dir rather than those elsewhere (the search
rules may have been changed) although possibly it is being loaded by the PDF
    you're using.

    To find out, try doing:

    cdswhich display.drf

    in the UNIX window.

Then look inside the directory for your technology library - that's a common
    place they're kept.

As for wavescan vs AWD - can you be a bit more specific about what you "really
don't like"? I always appreciate honest and specific feedback, because it gives
us (Cadence) a chance to do something about it. Non-specific comments don't give
us any clues as to how to improve it (that said, we have lots of things underway
to improve it, and there are a lot of big improvements already, in the
calculator and results browser, in IC613, for example).

    Regards,

    Andrew.

Just a one more comment on the waves display stuff ...
I have been showed some features of the new IC614 yesterday. Wave
color selection has been eventually made easy.

    Cheers,
    Riad.
