    Hi,
I'm a SolidWorks user and I didn't found a technical reason from my VAR
and newsgroup why still in SolidWorks 2006, I can't change inactive
    configuration's dimensions in assembly.

    Regards,

    Alessandro,

SolidWorks has behaved this way ever since I can remember. All inactive
configurations are "put away" and so are not accesible to be solved.
When a dimension is changed SolidWorks must solve all the relationships
that come after that dimension. Therefore, you are not allowed to
change a dimension in an inactive configuration.

However, there is a way to change dimensions in one or more
configurations IF the dimension is controlled by a design table. Even
so only the active configuration is the only one that will be updated.
