Has anyone had any experience with the Technesis Consolidator for the Oce' TDS series? We just acquired a TDS 600 with Repro Desk. Technesis Consolidator is supposed to track the printing for billing, not only for windows printing using Smartplot, but is supposed to sync with Oce' Account Logic and Repro Desk Server to track the scan to print and the Repro Desk printing as well. The Smartplot portion works well and tracks the printing, but has trouble collecting the Account Logic and Repro Desk transactions. Worse than that, according to Oce', the Technesis software is corrupting the Oce' software.

If you have any experience with this situation, I would love to hear from you. I am in the middle of a Technesis/Oce' finger-pointing match and would like some resolution.

    Thanks.

  2. try calling Mark Vorba at OCB in Irvine. He has delat with that for years.
The guys at Consolidated Reprographics in Laguna Hills were pretty good too.
Anytime you can find good FM contract people at repro firms, you will find answers to those questions.
I had no idea it could hook to reprodesk. Anything with that prog is a long shot these days.

    Jeff,

I looked in our case tracking system and did not see your name. Please give Technesis a call directly so that we can work this out. I have not heard of our software corrupting their software, but we would definitely like to get to the bottom of your issues. Please call the Technesis main line and ask for anyone in support.

    Jeff,

I was able to talk to another tech in our office. I guess they were working through a reseller and why I didn't see your name in our case tracking system.

Anyway, from what I understand the problem was that Oce Account Logic on the controller was crashing after Technesis populates with our billing information. Version 1.1.x of Account Logic would crash when there are too many projects uploaded. We are not sure of the exact number that will make the software crash, but I have heard a couple hundred. Our software actually has an option to upload only those projects that have been recently used to assist with this.

I think the ultimate solution though is to upgrade to Account Center version 1.2.x. This version of the Oce Account Logic component will not crash with hundreds, even thousands, or projects.

I think this has been communicated, but please let us know if you continue to have problems. Call our support line anytime!

    Regards,

    Technesis Support,

I am discovering that Oce' has a very bad habit of releasing software updates, and then not telling anyone (including their own System Consultants). This issue could have been resolved in January, when the update was released, had the Oce' System Consultant been notified properly. Instead many manhours have been wasted.

    Thanks for your help Technesis.
