    I have SWX open
I plug in my trusty memory stick
I go to file/find references and try to save on the stick.
Problem is, the stick doesn't show up. However, when I remind SWX of the
path by typing E:\ in the command line then all of a sudden it does see the
    new drive.
Most other programs I have have no problem recognizing the new drive, or at
least I can refresh to get it to appear.

Plug in the memory stick first, before opening sw, would seem the obvious
    answer.

Obvious, except the stick will be plugged in and removed any time and moved
between SW sesssions on different computers. Isn't that the whole idea of
    hot plugging USB devices?

  4. I have the same problem with my Firewire drive. You don't have to
restart SWX. All you have to do is make sure you hear the "dong" of
the USB device being recognized. Once you here that, Go to "my
Computer" and double-click on the drive letter of the memory stick to
open a windows folder. Once you've done this you be able to see that
drive letter when saving a file in windows. This is a "windows" thing
not a SWX issue; I see it with other apps.

Just had a thought, when I had trouble with my memory stick, I set-up a
reserved drive letter for it, and that sorted the problem.
Hope this helps a bit better than my last answer! , lol

Dumb Question. How do you set up a reserved drive letter?

  7. you RMB on My Computer then MANAGE, then disk management.

From that point you'll see all the drives that are mounted and you can
go to the particular drive and RMB on it to change the drive letter.
