I always say that "People don't go to the hardware store to buy a drill. They go there to buy a hole." Further to that: I don't buy a <brand X> drill to become a part of their research and development team. I just want a bunch of holes. Another interesting view might be that "People don't buy cars to become crash-test-dummies." And, finally, from Star Wars: "Your Focus Determines Your Reality."
