    Greetings All,
I have a basic knowledge of SW (enough to construct die details, forms,
etc) and have MasterCAM. My goal is to be able to design a given part in SW,
import in to MCAM, and output it as a file to be sent to our ProtoTRAK.
Design and build in one stop.... Is this too ambitious to try on my own? I
opened up MCAM, and it looks like a fairly intense app. Any opinions whether
this is doable or not on my own??? Many thanks, Mark

How much did you pay for the MasterCAM?

    Nuttin'

Exactly the same thing that Cliff Huprich knows about Mastercam X2.

To clarify, I paid nuttin' because it's installed at work. So I didn't pay
for it. But the problem is the only guy who knew MasterCAM quit, and no one
else knows how to use it. I thought I'd be able to help out by picking up
    the basics, at least.

Will that version of MC work with the version of SW?
Have the docs & any training materials?
If not, contact your VAR & ask ....

None of these links provide the extensive free video training for a
Mastercam X beginner that I once posted.

    Anyone else... with a clue?

Where else can he get excellent free Mastercam X2 videos produced by a
local resource to Bottlebob? The producer of these videos is even
better / more experienced than the author of the EA Apprentice videos
and is one of the most valued resources CNC Software has even if they
don’t know how to really reward / treat / use that resource.

Further, what would be an excellent next step for our lazy friend?
Hint, it comes with Mastercam X2 (and if he doesn't have it he can
print it out) and serves as a good overview / compliment to these
videos. Its well written and laid out when compared to say Gibbscam
manuals and is produced with Adobe FrameMaker.

Mastercam X2 comes with 2 CD's. The "official" videos are very poorly
    done.

    CLUE to jb:
You have to actually HAVE MasterCAM.
IF you had ever had it (legal copy) you would know, right?
Probably right there in the *instructions* too.
Opps .. you are nearly iliterate as well as clueless . Must have
    ads for free videos ...

It's amazing that ANYBODY would think or claim that 16 hours
worth of videos .. would make you a SolidWorks (or anything else)
"expert" ... even had you watched all 16 hours worth.
You'd probably actually need SolidWorks too ....
