SW Drawing views still make big files?

Been doodling with SW v2003. In this older version, it seems for every
view you add to a drawing file, the full weight of the model (in file
size) is added to the drawing. Example a drawing with 1 or 2 views is
say 2mgs, add 4 more views, the file gets substancially bigger. Is this
no longer in the newest versions?

there have been 3 releases and one pending release since. Take your
substantially larger file and save it as a new file. This in many
cases can conciderably down size the file. You could also run
echosqueeze on it to remove shadowing that is done in all MS office and
SolidWorks Files it is just more apparent in SolidWorks because of the
    amount of data involved.
