I am wondering if anyone can tell me if it is possible to have a
solidworks BOM table set to follow the assembly order upon insertion?
Currently, I have to insert the BOM, then RMB on the BOM and toggle
the "follow assembly order" option. It would be nice if it came in
with this option already toggled. Any feedback is appreciated.

    Thank you,
    Tim

  2. The text below is from the help files. Check out the last line. Looks
like you'll have to write a VB macro to toggle the setting immediately
    after inserting a BOM.

Click Follow assembly order for the item numbers to follow the order
in which the assembly appears in the FeatureManager design tree. When
selected, if you reorder components in the FeatureManager design tree,
the BOM automatically updates. For components with multiple instances,
the first instance appears in the order of the FeatureManager design
tree, and subsequent instances increment the quantity. <<This option
is available for existing bills of materials only.>>

After making your selections for the BOM table options save the BOM
table as a new BOM template. Your follow assembly order if checked will
be saved as the default in the new template.
