student version message

Hi,

it´s possible erase this message in the student version plots.
We have a lot of planes infected with this message.

Information from saved messages about the education stamp:

The plot stamp is supposed to be there if you are using the
educational version of AutoCAD, or are using a file that at some
point went through an educational version of AutoCAD. Somewhere,
somehow your drawing or a component being used went through such
an educational version, hence the stamp. It is deliberately built
into the educational program to stop it from being used in an
office environment.

Search the newsgroups for past discussions of the stamp. Go to
the search engine at

the key words educational stamp and hit enter.

AutoCAD 2004 does have a warning capability built in. Older
versions require Autodesk Reseller intervention.

Issue

When you plot a drawing that was created in or that contains
drawing data
that was created in the Educational (Student and Faculty) version
of
AutoCAD® or AutoCAD-based software, the following plot stamp or
watermark
appears in the plot:

Solution

There is no way to circumvent the plot stamp. This is as designed
to
discourage the commercial use of an educational version of an
AutoCAD
product. Autodesk sells educational versions of software on the
premise that
the software will be used for educational purposes only.

This can also occur when using blocks or other components of
drawings that
have been created or modified in an Educational version. This
includes
layers, blocks, layouts, and so on.

stamp:

Reseller and the Autodesk Product Support group.

Contact your reseller and request a copy of EMR_STAMP.LSP (or
EMR_Utility).
This is a lisp utility to search out infected files. If you have
a few
infected files they can be emailed to AutoDesk for cleaning. If
you have a
large quantity to be cleaned they have a 15 day program (involves
an
approval process) that you can use to clean the files.

If needed please copy this information and email it to your
reseller as this
problem may be something your representative may not be familiar
with.

Please note that AutoCAD 2004 includes automatic detection and
warning of
the presence of Educational Drawing Files.

 

I am an Autodesk Authorized Dealer.

One of our clients has 5 Architectural Desktop 2004 licenses. His daughter
is an architecture student, and has a student version of Architectural
Desktop 2004. She opened some of the files with this student version, saving
the changes, producing the effects already reported. The problem we face
now, is that most of the files of our client, when printed, show the
"Student Version" label. We need to remove the reference to the Student
Version in the files affected by this problem.

I am sorry, his Architectural desktop version is ADT 3.3

 

Then I guess you need to contact AutoDesk to find out how to remove it.
If your really not a dealer, then I guess you need to contact your
dealer and they can help you. Otherwise your screwed.

I am not a technically trained support personnel but admin for
the groups. What I posted prior was saved from previous similar
messages.

Moving student version files to a commercial environment will
create the plot stamp as you have experienced. Since you are a
reseller and unfamiliar with this, you probably want to call
Autodesk directly.
