Does anyone know of a way to force all drawings to open read-only by
    default?
    Thanks,

Find the files with Windows Explorer. Highlight same. Right click and
select "Properties" Check box that says "Read Only". Close

I think the keyword here was "all", not changing each file one by one.

What I was refering to is making an AutoCAD station always open all drawings
read-only, regardless of the read-only status of the drawing or any other
    factor.
    Thank you,

I don't think that is possible, but I could be mistaken. Why do you
    want to do this?

  6. Assuming a network, couldn't this be done by restricting network privileges
    and keeping the
    files on another "protected" machine?

That's what I thought. No, to my knowledge there is no way to do that.
