Available in the Performance section of the SW forum under the same
    thread.

Fixed the problem Art had with having to have a part open.

Runs faster due to turning off screen updates till the part is
    finished.

Sets preferences for some consistency and then, I hope, resets them
    when done.

It should be possible to get to 6 levels in a reasonable time.

Make sure that your default part template has shaded mode turned on
    without shadows or HLR enabled.

Tried to run Star 1.1 and it failed - I have posted a screen shot on
    SW Discussion Forum.

Tried with no file open and with file open - same result

I guess the early binding will kill it if you don't have the references
to the SW libraries checked in the VB editor.

    Dim swApp as Object
    Dim Part as Object

    should fix this.

  4. I just ran the new version the same way I did yesterday. I have noticed
that the first time through after starting SW is slower than subsequent
runs, so you should always throw out the first one. I also noticed that the
times are now shown with 2 decimal places - good, but my times are always
    ".00" ??

    SW2004
    2-1.00
    3-3.00
    4-10.00
    5-82.00
    6-1674

    SW2005
    2-1.00
    3-2.00
    4-9.00
    5-80.00

If you figure out the time for 6, it's 27.9 minutes - I won't do that one
again! Then extrapolating for a 7 run would put it somewhere past 10 hours.
    Hmmm.

I notice that my times for SW2005 are just a bit better than SW2004, which
is different from yesterday. I still think we should swap some settings
files to see if the difference is there.

The location of the part file might be affected if you put it on a network
drive. I have been putting mine at C:\Documents and Settings\wmtk\Local
    Settings\TempSWBackupDirectory.

It was late when I coded the change in time reporting. I'll have a look
at that. Shouldn't effect the run times though.

I noticed 2005 was a little faster too. But I attributed that to the
template not having HLR edges on the shaded part.
