speech recognition with acad

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by James Maeding, Feb 9, 2004.

  1. Anyone out there actually using speech recognition to issue acad commands?
I thought Cadwerx.net used to have a util under development, but they pulled it.
I am looking at the dragon products right now but am not sure how well they integrate with acad.
This is a fun time to be alive, all these avenues unexplored.

    Only thing is:
Most of us been talking to ourselves way before the computers could understand.

Just make sure you disable it before you answer the phone or some smarta$$
will call you asking "What is the command do blah blah blah" or gets on the
intercom and shouts "Erase ALL" Qsave" "Exit".

  5. Well the really fun thing would be to install it without users knowing. Then you walk up and say something to the
computer and it reacts! Like in the Star Trek movie where they were trying to save the whales (glad thats in the past)
and they showed the glass guy how to make transparent aluminum. Except in that scene the computer did not react...oh
    well, you get the mood.
Actually, I would make a tool that only did safe things, like osnaps or maybe zooming.
    The possibilities are humorous though.
