Spaceball question

Ever sense I broke my right collarbone, my right shoulder is killing me. I
purchased a spaceball on e-bay to attempt to relive some of the stress on my
    right arm
So far, I like it a lot.

I would however like to try and mate components with it. I would like to
click on a surface of a part and be able to rotate the view and click
on another surface of another part and then use a hot key on the spaceball
    to make the mate.

What is happening is that when I click on a surface of a part, then try to
rotate the view, only the part rotates. I toggle the sub part movement
command and that has no effect on stopping the rotation of the part.

Any experts out there what to give some advice? I would also be interested
in hearing about any other setup ideas you would have on spaceball or a
    spacemouse.

    Thanks

    Jay

    Hi Jay

In the 3Dcontrol menu, select properties and uncheck 'parts moving on
select'. Also uncheck 'drawing views' 'move on select' if you don't want
your views to move each time you select one.

Thanks guy's. I think it's a driver thing. Can't get it to work no matter
    what.
