    Hey SW gurus,
I've had this problem for a while starting back in SW2005 on W2k Pro. When
I start a NEW part and go to select the template the files are not arranged
alphabetically/numerically. In fact I don't see and rhyme or reason to the
order in which they are sorted. Does everyone have this issue or is it
something on my end? The template files are stored on a server.

    TIA
    Jeff

    Jeff,

I know what you are talking about... The template list is in random
    order.

If I remember correctly, it seems like I figured out once that the
templates are in the order of their last saved date. If I am correct
here, and you want to control the order, simply open all of your
templates and save each one of them in the order you want them to
    appear.

I could be wrong. But it shouldn't take but a couple minutes to
    verify this....

As far as I can tell, my templates are arranged alphabetically.
However, it also separates them by type, so all the part templates are
first, then all the assembly, then drawing.

  4. Try using Windows Explorer, in the template folder, above the file listings
is a bar called "name", click that bar and windows will sort alphabetically,
up or down, your choice. actually you can click any of the bars and sort by
date, size etc. I hope this is what your looking for.
