Firstly a reminder of the problem spoolsv.exe - Application Error The instruction at "0x77fcbd4e" referenced memory at "0x50000002". The memory could not be "written". Sometimes was able to plot to a file Other times even that would bomb out with error message: "AutoCAD: The data area passed to a system call is too small" Eventually I found that removing an ANSI31 hatch that extended outside the clipping area caused the problem to go away. I would not say it is fixed but rather gone away into hibernation until the time when I will desperately need a print in a hurry... If anyone can suggest a propper fix then I would be greatful. Thanks to those who responded before with suggestions.
