Solidworks explorer to copy files

I have had some trouble in the past using explorer.

I am trying to put an assembly with many sub assemblies onto a CD.
Explorer sometimes prompts me a second time to find the assembly even
though it is listed in the first box ( from ). Then it copies just
the assembly and not the children to my (to ) directory. Even though
the" find children" check box is checked. Other times all seems to
go welll but the configurations of all my toolbox parts are lost.
Giant size default screws are inserted. I don't use this very often
so each time is like the first. Can someone give me some tips to
    accomplish this seemingly simple task?

    Thanks in advance.

  2. Open it in SW and use File>Find References. In the dialogue hit copy files.
this will copy the files to a single folder or repeat the directory
structure in a new location. Depending on your burner and the CD you are
burning to you may be able to go directly to the CD otherwise you may have
    to make a temporary directory.

When copying an assembly to a CD I use SolidWorks and not SWExplorer.
With the assembly open in SolidWorks go to the File menu and select
"Find References". Select "Copy Files" and you'll get the option to
preserve directory structure or just dump everything into your new copy
to location. Works very reliably for us.
