Is there a way to plot a solid hatch as a semi transparency. I wouild like
to overlay a hatch (slightly shaded) over an aerial photo and be able to see
    through it.
    I'm using Acadmap R5, plotter hp5500
    any suggestion?
    thanks

The only thing I have found that works is set your maxhatch high and try a dot hatch pattern real tight as you probably know. the max hatch setting will allow you hatch the whole area without getting a error that the hatch is too dense. at the command line type (setenv "MaxHatch" "10000") I hope this helps. I have been using it and it seems to work.

How about changing the pen that plots to one that has a shaded value to it.
IE, pen 5, color 7, shading 25%. We do this in our office with 5 different
shade values and it works great across our laser printers, xerox plotter and
    hp designjets.
